It’s not often that I get to go to a real SMEx event these days, but now I finally got a weekend and a SMEx event in Oslo! The full board (current and ex-members) were available pre-movie for a nice drink and an elaborate photo shoot at the bar close to the Rådhus (Fridtjof?).

Unfortunately, that really was all the fun to be had that night. Couples Retreat is supposed to be a comedy, and the trailer certainly promised us a lot of laughs. They didn’t tell us that the trailer contained all the laughs though. The rest of the movie basically consisted of jokes that weren’t funny and lots of drama. It didn’t really seem to be able to decide what it wanted to be, and ended up just being incredibly boring.

Before seeing the movie I had expected that Vince Vaughn, who can be pretty funny at times, would be able to lift up this movie a bit (he also wrote the movie with Jon Favreau) – but he actually made it far worse. Crappiest movie I’ve seen this year.
